How to bake Date Loaf Cake ..?.!

INGREDIENTS:

• 1 tsp baking soda
• 1 cup boiling water
• 1 1/2 cups cut-up dates 
• 2/3 cup brown sugar,packed 
• 1 egg
• 1 tbsp butter 
• 1 tsp vanilla 
• 1 cup seedless raisins
• 1/2 cup well drained maraschino cherries halved
• 2 tbsp maraschino cherry juice
• 2 cups sifted all purpose flour 
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp salt

PROCEDURE:

Heat oven to 325F(160C)Grease a 9-x5-x3-inch

(23-x12.5-x7.5)loaf pain 

Add Baking soda and boiling water to dates, stir and set aside to cool a little.

Beat brown sugar,egg,butter and Vanilla together in a  mixing bowl,Stir in date mixture,raisins,maraschino  cherries and cherry juice.

Sift flour,baking powder and salt together into the fruit mixture and blend well. Spoon into prepared pan,

Bake about 1 hour and 15 minutes
